"If I Ruled the World" Student Art Contest

Awards, Performances, and more

Categories: Dance: Choreographed composition; recorded preferably on DVD (VHS accepted); not to exceed 5 minutes

Drama: One Act Play in script form, a minimum of 1,000 but not to exceed 3,000 words, 8-1/2 x 11" white copy or bond paper.

Film & Video: Works of fiction or non-fiction, with or without sound; student entering must serve as the screenwriter, director and cameraperson;
Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Media Presentations, Narrative - DVD or computer disc preferred (VHS accepted)
Literature: Lyrics, Poetry, Prose, Short Story, Children's Book; not to exceed 2,000 words; 8-1/2 x 11" white copy or bond paper, double spaced; typed form preferred (handwritten accepted)

Music: Musical composition of voice, instrument, or both; not to exceed 5 minutes; cassette or CD

Photography: Black & White Image, Colored Image, Grouping of Images - produced by a photographic process; 11/14 inches (including mat)

Hanging & Shelf Display Three Dimensional: Windchimes, Masks, Mobiles, Kites; & Dioramas; form having length, breadth, and depth that exceed the 3/8" thickness rule under Visual and Folk Art; mediums & size that can withhold storage and transportation, also display with ease; no loose components that can be lost or separated; no kits allowed

Visual & Folk Art: Ceramics, Collage, Computer Generated, Drawings, Fiber, Jewelry, Metal Etching, Painting, Print, Punch Work, Sculpture, Stained Glass; no larger than 24 x 30 inches including mat or frame; not thicker than 3/8" except in sculpture, ceramics, & stained glass.
Deadline to Art Centre: April 18 & 19th

Performances: May 3, Exhibit Opens May 2 - 31

Students from the following areas are invited to participate: ISDs - Alba-Golden, Big Sandy, Chapel Hill, Como-Pickton, Harmony, Hawkins, Mineola, Mount Pleasant, MountVernon, Pittsburgh, Quitman, Rains, Saltillo, Sulphur Springs, Union Hill, Winnsboro, Yantis. Students home schooled or enrolled in Private Schools in Wood County only.
