Imagine That!

Cultural Arts and Dance/Movement (Africa & Russia)

Instructors: Cindy Fisher and Laurel Cox, VISTA Volunteers

**Location: Memorial Middle School Cafeteria (Chestnut and College)

Day One - the students will take a journey South of the Equator into South Africa’s heritage and landscape and from which an art piece will be created. Then we’ll enjoy an explosive stampede of song and dance, all to the beat of Africa. Imagine That!

Day Two - we’ll focus on the rich heritage of the former Soviet Union, exploring Russia, Moldova, Uzbekistan and the Ukraine through folk dance. As well, students will create a unique piece of Slovak art styled after one of the farthest points North of the Equator.

Students will have the opportunity to display their Cultural Creations at the Art Centre throughout the summer.

Age: 5th Grade thru Teens

Maximum: 15 Students

Tuition: $15.00 (an immediate family of two or more, deduct $5 off each student)

Deposit: $5

9:30 – 11:00 a.m.

All Scheduled Classes and Events will be held at the TCCA Center, 200 Market Street, Winnsboro Texas, unless otherwise noted.
